Workforce Development

Since 2012, the Foundation has supported workforce development for vulnerable populations. Our goal is to enable everyone in our region to secure a sustainable job with a livable wage. The Foundation has served as an advocate, funded research, and supported employment navigators. We currently partner with the United Way to support the Workforce Partnership Team, a network of area workforce professionals building a connected system of services, and to grow Network2WorkRVA, an innovative technology that connects job seekers with employers looking to fill vital roles within their company.

In addition, in 2022, we partnered with J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and the Community College Workforce Alliance to advance skilled trades offerings including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Welding. Programming is structured to meet the needs of adult learners and allow students to earn credentials in a timeframe that fits their schedule and allows them to quickly find employment.

Partners include: CARITAS, Community College Workforce Alliance, Community Foundation for a greater Richmond, Housing Families First, HumanKind, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Re:Work Richmond, Sacred Heart Center, St. Joseph’s Villa, United Way, and YWCA.
