Executive Director’s Round Table

Executive directors of small to mid-sized nonprofit organizations often wear multiple hats including fundraiser, financial manager, HR professional, strategic planner and program director.  As a result, the role of executive director can be extremely challenging and isolating.  In 2016, the Foundation created a network for support and professional development called the Executive Director’s Roundtable.  This group of thirteen executive directors meets every other month with speakers on topics such as board development, fundraising, advocacy, budgeting, staff engagement, evaluation and many others.  The group identifies topics of interest and, in addition to inviting outside speakers, shares their own experiences and resources on each topic.  Since its inception, the roundtable has birthed programmatic and operational partnerships among its members and provided a wealth of resources on nonprofit leadership.

Partners include: ACTS, Boaz & Ruth, Friends Association for Children, Hanover Safe Place, HomeAgain, Housing Families First, Neighborhood Resource Center, Rebuilding Together Richmond, Richmond Habitat for Humanity, Sacred Heart Center, Safe Harbor, The READ Center, and Virginia Housing Alliance.
